Arisan Tenggara, officially called “Arisan: Forum Kolektif Seni Asia Tenggara”, is tailored as a forum for collaboration between art collectives in Southeast Asia. In their debut program, the representatives of art collectives basing in Southeast Asia were partnering with art collectives in Yogyakarta. It was done to encourage and support collaborative activities between them. Arisan Tenggara was initiated by Ace House Collective in collaboration with Krack! Studio, Lifepatch, Ruang Gulma, Ruang MES 56, and SURVIVE! Garage. The six collectives hosted other six collectives from other regions in Southeast Asia, namely Tentacles (Bangkok, Thailand), Tanahindie (Makassar, Indonesia), WSK! (Manila, the Phillipines), Rumah Api (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), Rekreatif (Dili, Timor-Leste), and Gembel Art Collective (Dili, Timor-Leste).

One of the projects initiated by Arisan Tenggara in the debut program in 2018 is Commons Credit Cooperativa (CCC). CCC is a cooperative aiming at supporting the members’ artistic production. While in traditional cooperative the exchange object is money, CCC facilitates its members to exchange time. This is the illustration. One member of CCC may contribute his/her 4 hours of working to support the other CCC members’ projects by doing his/her expertise. In return, that particular member can ask for other members’ 4 hours of working to provide what he/she needs in his/her own project.

In Biennale this year, Arisan Tenggara puts the CCC project into test. Arisan Tenggara collaborates with two artists selected through their internal mechanism. The two artists, Manda Selena and Andy Baskoro, collaborate to produce their works and organize an exhibition with full support from CCC.
